Uzbekistan Improves Its Position by 5 Places in the Corruption Perceptions Index
Transparency International announces January 30 the Corruption Perceptions Index 2023.
Among 180 countries, Uzbekistan took 121st place scoring 33 points. It is important to note that our country, by adding 2 points, improved its position in the ranking by 5 places (126th in 2022).
Uzbekistan is recognized in this Index as a country that has shown a steady growth seven years in a row (from scoring 22 points in 2017 to 33 points in 2023).
The development of various anti-corruption procedures aimed at implementing the tasks defined in regulations, as well as the effective implementation of an internal anti-corruption control system in ministries and departments, were among positive changes in this regard.
Worth to note that the procedure introduced into practice regarding the application of strict measures against officials committing corruption crimes also contributed to the improvement of the country’s position.
