Akmal Burkhanov, Director of the Anti-Corruption Agency, has held a meeting in Washington, D.C., with Daniel Boyce, the World Bank’s Governance Practice Manager for Europe and Central Asia, and Daniela Felcman, Senior Governance Specialist, during which the sides discussed the status of joint projects and prospects for cooperation.

In particular, the Agency head highly appreciated the support of the World Bank in developing a methodology for assessing corruption risks in the activities of government bodies of Uzbekistan and conducting an institutional assessment of the Agency’s activities.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to provide expert assistance in the implementation of laws on conflict of interest and anti-corruption expertise of legal acts and their drafts, organize a special interactive session within the Anti-Corruption Forum scheduled to be held in Uzbekistan, as well as continue cooperation in other areas.
